Creating Captions That Connect:

A Writer’s Workshop for Real Estate Agents

Learn exactly what to write in your next Instagram caption.

(And in your next Facebook post, LinkedIn post, email newsletter, blog post, and print marketing piece!)

The best way to stay in the loop as to when I will host the workshop again is to subscribe to my email newsletter.

In this workshop, you will learn the step-by-step process for how to tell stories in your real estate marketing.

Did you know that your social media captions can help you find more joy in your real estate business?

This is because sharing your stories allows you to attract like-minded clients you truly love to serve.

But what if I’m not a writer?  What if I suck at writing?  What if I don’t have any stories to tell?

But what if I’m not a writer?  What if I suck at writing?  What if I don’t have any stories to tell?

None of this matters. Truly.

Not only have I designed this workshop specifically for real estate agents, but it is also designed for any skill level. I believe there is something for everyone in this workshop!

Over the past decade, I have worked with 100+ real estate agents. There are many different learning styles out there, and there’s also so much variation when it comes to creativity and productivity. Everyone does things a little differently, and that is totally cool.

Together, we will take the first (baby) steps to telling your first story.

(And everyone has a story to share. Promise.)

But don’t worry, I’m not gonna leave ya hangin’ once the workshop is over. This workshop also comes with a workbook that is your roadmap to writing even more captions, far beyond this workshop. (More on the workbook in a moment!)

“The workshop was great! It helped myself, and other agents break out of our comfort zone to explore more ways of posting content that shows the value that we can provide to our clients. Stories are the most meaningful way to demonstrate your expertise, how you show up and what you can do for people so it was great to get more ideas on how to include them. I also liked all of the prompts and ideas that were provided in the workbook - I have already made so many notes in the book about what kind of posts I can make from the ideas. It really inspired me to get moving on my social media!”

Stories have power. Marketing professionals are always talking about the power of story. Some of the most successful brands out there tell stories in their marketing. That’s because it works. And with good reason:

Our brains are literally wired for story. It’s neuroscience!

At the most basic level, stories share invaluable information that humans have historically used for survival.

“Ok, great. But how do I tell stories in my real estate marketing?”

Good question. The thing is, marketers will talk about the power of story all day, every day. But they almost never show you how to tell a story in your marketing.

This workshop takes the guesswork out of how to tell a story specifically for your real estate marketing.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Work through fill-in-the-blank prompts to guide you in telling your stories

  • Learn how to capture your reader’s attention

  • Receive valuable insights from other attendees that will make your stories shine even more

  • Receive guidance on visuals to include with your stories

  • Get tons of inspiration to get your creative gears turning

  • Learn how to maximize all of the effort you put into writing your story through repurposing your content

  • Learn best practices for sharing stories in the real estate industry

  • Learn how to make sure the most people possible see your content, so you can attract clients you love

  • Leave the workshop with actionable steps and a workbook absolutely brimming with content ideas, writing prompts, and exercises so you will never run out of content

… and more.

Hi! Before we go any further, let me introduce myself.

My name is Alyssa Christensen, and I am the creator of this workshop. For 10+ years, I’ve worked with real estate agents, teams, and brokerages on their online marketing. While I wear many different hats now (I’m a trainer, coach, and content creator), I started my career as a writer.

After graduating from the University of Puget Sound with an English degree, I worked as a copywriter at an e-commerce company, and as a writer and editor at a magazine. I began my career in real estate marketing primarily as a writer, collaborating with my clients to tell stories about themselves, their clients, the buying and selling process, and more. BTW: What is a “writer’s workshop”?

Typically, a writer’s workshop begins with some form of instruction from the leader of the group (oftentimes a professor, writing professional, or published writer). Everyone attending the workshop brings a piece of writing they have prepared, and they share their writing with the entire group OR they break out into smaller groups to share. Everyone in the group offers the writer constructive feedback. At the end of the workshop, attendees are often given time to write, and typically attendees are also given an assignment to complete before the next workshop.

We’ll use a similar format, but don’t worry—you don’t need to come to this workshop with anything prepared in advance!

This workshop is for real estate agents who…

… don’t know what to say in the captions of their social media posts

… want to experience more joy everyday because they are serving clients they love

… want to do more of their own marketing

… don’t feel comfortable being sales-y (you know what I mean!)

The Agenda

This workshop is 2 hours long. The schedule is as follows:

If I can toot my own horn for a moment, I am incredibly proud of this workbook. Not only did I put many, many hours into developing the content, but I poured my 10+ years of experience in real estate marketing onto each page.

The Workbook

  • We will actively be engaging with your workbook during our workshop.

  • This workbook is also your roadmap to creating written content beyond this class.

  • Not only have I included hundreds of content ideas, but there are pages of prompts and fill-in-the-blank exercises to show you exactly what to write next.
